About Midwest Dharma Wheel

Cary and Lee opened Midwest Dharma Wheel in Lincoln in May 2002 (formerly called Haymarket Studio) after leaving New York City, where they spent over a decade studying and doing professional work in movement, yoga, dance, Pilates, Ayurveda, theater, bodywork, meditation, eastern contemplative practice, and integral health therapies. Upon returning to Lincoln, they wanted to create a haven offering a personalized and wide-reaching approach to health, embodiment, and inner spiritual growth.

Midwest Dharma Wheel offers several areas to engage in growth and self-care.  In 2018 we relocated to our current home and have created a contemplative and healing arts center.

We offer:

  • Support for physical health through various movement modalities such as Yoga, Pilates, and Movement Therapies.

  • Holistic Health & Lifestyle services based on the ancient tradition of Ayurveda.

  • Contemplative practice rooted in eastern meditative traditions and western psychological understanding offered on a personal level and also through classes.

  • Support for the inner, spiritual growth of the individual, through personal mentoring.

  •  A committed track of meditation practice rooted in Jungian and Contemplative Spiritual Traditions.

Midwest Dharma Wheel is a unique container for the development of Wholeness. There is an unbroken thread the runs through all of our offerings which provides a level of continuity that is rare to find today. Cary and Lee have laid the groundwork to support the integration of psyche, healthy embodiment, and spiritual growth according to the needs of the individual. The local community has been influenced by their work in many ways and over the years and they have inspired, mentored, and spawned many offspring from their teachings. Lee and Cary are committed to personal and authentic care for everyone who comes to work with them.

The Mandala is an archetypal image whose occurrence is attested throughout the ages.

It signifies the Wholeness of the Self.
