Yoga nidrā meditations: Review and Deepening
Mon Oct 29, 6-9 pm
($35 by Oct. 23 for participants in Sreedevi’s current Intensive or 2017 Yoga nidrā trainings)
Yoga nidrā is a guided deep-relaxation somatic meditation in the shavāsana or lying-down posture. With origins in timeless Tantric Yoga, yoga nidrā offers systematic practice in shifting our somatic awareness through the body, breath and sensations to a deeper witness consciousness. It incorporates progressively relaxing stages through body scanning, counting backwards at chakra points while tapping the power of intention (sankalpa), guided visualizations etc. Experience sample variations of yoga nidrā practice. Research evidence is mounting for the therapeutic benefits of yoga nidrā, including stress release and trauma healing. NOTE: 2017 yoga nidra training participants can review and share their work towards completion of their certificate.
